KALAHI-CIDSS: KKB CYCLE 3, 2007

The KALAHI-CIDSS:KKB Project is one of the 3 KALAHI-CIDSS:KKB Cycles that aims to reduce poverty and its effect through infrastructures and even  livelihood projects. The project is led by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) funded by World Bank. The project was able to complete 13 sub-projects of the different barangays through the Municipal Inter-Barangay Forum (MIBF).

 

MANGROVE FOOTWALK, 2008

Joint venture of the Local Government of Ajuy, the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and PEW implemented the Community-Based Mangrove Reforestation Project. All parties allocated Php.100,000.00 to come up with the total project amount of Php.300,000.00 to complete the project.

 

CONSTRUCTION OF BREAK WATER, 2008

 The Construction of Break Water in Barangay Pedada is one of the successful project implemented by the Local Government of Ajuy. The said project was funded by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) still in connection with their Community-Based Mangrove Reforestation Project. The total Project cost of the break water is Php. 300,000.00

 

DENR MANGROVE REHABILITATION, 2008

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) granted an amount of PHP 1,967,847.00 for the rehabilitation of our mangrove area in the Municipality of Ajuy by growing and planting of various mangrove plants. The shores of Barangay Pedada and Luca are just two of the mangrove areas `planted with mangrove plants for the restoration of mangrove areas of the municipality.

 

GAWAD KALINGA VILLAGE, 2008

The Ajuy-Canada Gawad Kalinga Village had successfully completed 34 houses for the homeless constituents of the Municipality of Ajuy. The first 26 Gawad Kalinga houses had already utilized the total amount of Php. 1,680,000.00 and were completed. The Ajuy Municipal Government recently had meetings with the new GK Provincial Management Team and another wave of GK houses to complete the expected 100 houses intended for the Ajuy-Canada GK Village is expected to commence early this year.

 

RED CROSS HOUSING PROGRAM, 2008

PhP 1,120,000.00

Twenty eight houses were constructed under the Red Cross Housing Program which benefited 28 families whose houses were totally destroyed by Typhoon Frank.

 

CONSTRUCTION OF 1 UNIT 3 CLASSROOM, SCHOOL BUILDING, 2008 

Aside from the major repair of the Gabaldon Building at APMES worth PhP 150,000.00, the local government unit of Ajuy had allocated fund for the construction of 1 unit-3 classroom school building worth PhP 1,500,000.00.

 

MAKAMASANG TUGON, 2009

The KALAHI-CIDSS:MAKAMASANG TUGON is not only an infrastructure development but a poverty alleviation project spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) funded by  World Bank. The total Grant Fund allocated for the Municipality of Ajuy is Php.17,000,000.00 transferred to prioritized Barangay’s KALAHI-CIDSS:MT Bank Account. The distribution of fund and the prioritization of proposed sub-projects of the barangays are through the Municipal Inter-Barangay Forum (MIBF). The KALAHI-CIDSS:MT is also known to be an incentive to the best performing municipalities during the implementation of KALAHI-CIDSS:KKB Project. 

 

DENR LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM, 2008

PhP 892,500.00

The Municipality of Ajuy, especially its coastal areas, was greatly affected by the M/T Solar I Oil Spill tragedy. Eight coastal barangays had availed of various kind of livelihood under the DENR Livelihood program implemented in close coordination with the Local Government Unit of Ajuy intended to enhance and restore their means of livelihood to recover from the tragedy.

 

RURAL ELECTRIFICATION PROJECT, 2009

The Rural Electrification Project of Hon. Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago aims to energize the most isolated communities of the Municipality of Ajuy and has a total fund of Php.8,000,000.00. Twenty eight sitios of the 17 barangays of the municipality was able to avail the project. Just recently, all 28 sitios were all energized and now operational.

 

KATAS NG VAT PARA KAY LOLO AT LOLA, 2009

The program Katas ng VAT Para kay Lolo at Lola is spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The total amount of grant of Php.156,000.00 for the Senior Citizens was completely awarded  to them.

 

DOLE SMOKE FISH PROCESSING PROJECT, 2009

One of the successful livelihoods in the Municipality of Ajuy is the Smoked Fish Processing in Barangay Silagon. The project is about Php. 248,000.00 sponsored by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). The amount was intended for the trainings and purchase of facilities and equipments for the livelihood.

 

DOLE LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM, 2009

PhP 500,000.00

Typhoon Frank greatly affected the town of Ajuy causing enormous damage to lives and properties of Ajuynons. Department of Labor and Employment has allocated five hundred thousand pesos for the formation of various livelihood projects for those greatly affected by the said calamity. At present, the beneficiaries for the livelihood program continue to increase in number.

 

COMPLETION OF THE 2ND FLOOR OF PUBLIC MARKET BUILDING, 2010

The Completion of the Ajuy Public Market Building was materialized and was completed through the kindness of Hon. Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri who appropriated an amount of Php.500,000.00 and Hon. Senator Loren Legarda who also appropriated the same amount. The Local Government of Ajuy added the amount of Php. 430,000.00 through the efforts of the Hon. Mayor Juan R. Alvarez and the Sangguning Bayan of Ajuy. The total project cost of the new Ajuy Public Market Building is Php.1,430,000.00.

 

CONSTRUCTION OF BOUNDARY LINE NICHES, 2009

PhP 500,000.00

Because of the need to make the municipal cemetery more orderly and indeed a place for our earthly bodies to rest, boundary line niches were constructed. These are apartment-type niches designed to serve as a fence and as well as to minimize the cost of construction of niches. The committee had enacted an ordinance to regulate, prescribe fees and to properly administer the above-said project.

 

CONCRETING OF MARINA ST., 2009             

PhP 500,000.00

A portion of Marina Street which is dusty and dilapidated was concreted as part of the Annual Development Plan of the municipality for the year 2009.

 

RIP-RAP OF ROAD FROM POBLACION TO PANT. NABAYE , 2009

Another development project of the municipality is the construction of riprap protection of road from Marina Street, Brgy. Poblacion down to Brgy. Pantalan Nabaye. The project is funded by the Local Government of Ajuy with the total project cost of PhP 336,000.00

 

 PURCHASE OF AMBULANCE, 2010

The Municipal Ambulance was purchased through the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) with the 40% Ajuy Local Government counterpart in the amount of Php.358,000.00 thru the  60/40 cost sharing scheme of PCSO. The LGU Ajuy is currently on the process of purchasing another unit of Municipal Ambulance this year with the same of the PCSO.

 

CONSTRUCTION OF CURVE & GUTTER FROM POBLACION TO AJUY NHS, 2010

The Construction of Curve & Gutter Project from Poblacion going to Ajuy National High School was completed with the total fund of Php.840,000.00. Hon. Senator Allan Peter Cayetano granted an amount of Php.500,000.00 with an LGU counterpart of Php.340,000.00 for the completion of the said project.

 

LINE CANAL AT BARANGAY POBLACION

The Local Government of Ajuy is constructing a Line Canal in Poblacion to provide its constituents better waterways especially during rainy season. The project had a total project cost of PhP 750, 000.00.

 

CONSTRUCTION OF 20 MILLION NEW MUNICIPAL HALL BUILDING

Through the vision of the Local Chief Executive and the incumbent municipal officials, the dream of having a municipal hall building which will serve as venue for government transactions and provision of basic services to its people is not that far from reality. Ajuy Municipal Hall Building construction which costs Php.20,000,000.00 to be funded out of the municipal fund and savings will be started soon. As an initial fund for the project, the local government unit of Ajuy has allocated PhP 8,000,000.00 from its savings and a minimum of Five Million Pesos will be apportioned yearly for the same project.

 

KALAHI-CIDSS: MAKAMASANG TUGON 2

The KALAHI-CIDSS: MAKAMASANG TUGON 2 Project is the continuation of the previous KALAHI Projects in the Municipality of Ajuy headed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and funded by World Bank. The said project had a total grant fund of Php.500,000.00 per barangay with a total grant of 17,000,000.00 pesos for the Municipality of Ajuy. The total Local Community Counterpart is 6,250,812.00. MODIFIED SHELTER ASSISTANCE PROJECT

The Modified Shelter Assistance Project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) aims to provide shelter homes to the homeless and residents of the municipality of Ajuy particularly those people near the shores and river banks. The project intends to construct 100 units of houses to be implemented by the Local Government of Ajuy and the identified recipients. The project is to be funded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development with a total grant of Php 5,000,000.00 and LGU counterpart of Php.500,000.00.

 

PANTAWID PAMILYANG PILIPINO PROGRAM (4Ps)

The Municipality of Ajuy is one of the lucky beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). Each family beneficiary could expect to avail of PhP 1,400.00 monthly as subsistence for the next five years. One thousand five hundred or more families will be selected randomly according to the criteria set forth by the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Barangay Malayu-an and Culasi were the first 2 barangays that availed the program. The total amount of Php. 5,568,000 worth of 4P’s grant was released to the beneficiaries of the 2 Barangays last December 30, 2010 while the other 32 barangays of the municipality were validated just recently.

 

PURCHASE OF TABLES AND CHAIRS  

PhP 1,000,000.00

Hon. Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago allotted One Million Pesos from her PDAF for the purchase of tables and chairs of the public elementary and high schools in the Municipality of Ajuy.

 

CONSTRUCTION OF SLAUGHTERHOUSE

PhP 1,000,000.00

In order to improve the services extended by the LGU especially the market sector, which is the main source of almost all the constituents’ needs, a Municipal Slaughterhouse worth One Million Pesos was constructed in the municipal-owned lot at Barangay San Antonio. The Department of Agriculture had promised to provide the facilities necessary for the operation of the said project.

 

LUCA FLAT BED DRYER, 2010

The Department of Agriculture funded the Municipality of Ajuy for the Construction of Luca Flat Bed Dryer. It has a total project cost of Php.600,000.00. The project is now on-going construction at the barangay. It is being implemented by the Local Government of Ajuy.

 

PHILHEALTH FOR INDIGENTS

PhP 1,000,000.00 (yearly appropriation)

Health is wealth. This holds true especially for our poor constituents whom their riches depends solely in their force and energy. These are people who could not afford to get sick. And so, the Local Government Unit of Ajuy allocates yearly fund for the membership and renewal of PhilHealth in order for our indigents to avail of the benefits provided by the agency should they get sick or hospitalized.

 

LGU SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

PhP 900,000.00 (yearly appropriation)

The program started during the term of Hon. Jett C. Rojas who always has a great vision for his constituents most especially for the youth to acquire good education. To institutionalize the program, Hon. Juan R. Alvarez continued to implement the same through an ordinance enacted for the purpose and increased the yearly appropriation for the scholarship program.

 

KILOS ASENSO PROGRAM

PhP 966,000.00

The Department of Budget and Management – in its aim to provide additional fund for the development projects of the LGUs had came up with the Kilos Asenso program allocating PhP 966,000.00 for the Municipality of Ajuy. The LGU in return had appropriated same amount for the project as its counterpart to construct a Farm-to-Market road at Barangay Luca.
